I’m not a big fan of musicals, I enjoy the songs, but when the story is put on halt just so the characters can sing about it, it really bores me. Tick tock boom felt different though, the songs were really good but so was the music, for the first time I actually wanted more music, the music in this film actually progresses the film in a really good way and I really enjoyed it. We also got one of the best performances so far from Andrew Garfield, which is saying a lot coming from me given that I’m a big Spider-Man fan ( also the one about the salt lake was really good). A favourite song of mine was probably the first one about the happy birthday 30/90, which I’ll probably go back and listen to now. But I think the story was very interesting and it felt very real which is a feeling I don’t usually get from musicals, I think it’s mostly because it’s a musical about a guy writing a musical so it all felt very natural. The tick tick boom stuff was also cool, I like how in intense moments you can hear the ticking, and how he is watching his friends die and is getting older ( though he’s only 30).  I think there were a few too many characters to keep up with and I think them mentioning his death (even though it was mentioned at the start) felt kind of abrupt. But I had a good time watching it, acting was good, characters were good and the music was good, it also almost made cry… almost. Definitely the best musical I’ve ever watched.  Also the fact Andrew Garfield learnt to sing and play piano in what I think was a year is amazing, his voice was so good.  8.4/10
