One of my favourite movies of all time. I’m not entirely sure why, I know there’s a lot of better films out there, but none make me feel how I feel after watching the perks of being a wallflower. Logan Lerman was actually really good and Emma Watson may have been kind of cringy as an American but she’s Hermione Granger so who cares? The sound track is great and the film is edited really well. I’ve watched it like 5 times now and still haven’t read the book, if I read it I might like the film a little less but I love the structure of this film and I think all adaptations should be directed by the writer of the source material. I love films where the main character is as awkward as me, that’s why I love punch drunk love as much as I do. In perks of being a wallflower the main character Charlie is definitely more awkward than me, the last 3 times I’ve watched this film I’ve had my eyes closed for the truth or dare scene. Charlie is a great character and so are all the rest of them, this definitely won’t be the last time I watch this film. Well done mental breakdown and an interesting story with great characters, I would definitely recommend this film to anyone reading this review.  8.8 / 10
