Wow. So this was the final film I’m gonna have time to watch before the Oscars start in like 30 minutes, very happy to say I think I managed to save the best till last. This deserves best picture and definitely deserves best actor. Anthony Hopkins was amazing in this film which is one of the reasons I enjoyed this so much. I also loved it because of how smart it was, the way it played with memories, that’s one of the reasons eternal sunshine of a spotless mind is one of my favourite films and I think this film might have done it even better. I don’t want to give anything at all away about why this is, as I really don’t wanna ruin the experience for anyone but I loved this film, it was so sad and it made me feel a lot of emotions. It took me a while to watch it as I was kinda bored by the start, but it got so much better, I loved the soundtrack, the cinematography, the editing, the structure and the acting. Really just a great film. Sometimes I was a little bit bored and the story wasn’t all that interesting, but the way the story was told and presented to us, just kind of reminded me why I love film making. This is the kind of film that I feel like I can rewatch and notice so many more little details. Can’t wait for the Oscars now, I hope this wins, there’s so much more I could say about it but I don’t want to spoil anything, I wish Anthony Hopkins good luck. I definitely recommend this film.
8.7/10
Ok so I just watched the Oscars (it’s 4am rn ) and Anthony Hopkins won! Nomadland won like everything else tho and I think that was like the weakest film out of all of them but at least Hopkins got best actor.
