I assumed they were joking or exaggerating. Or maybe there would be something interesting over the top of the credits. But no, there was a black screen and we all had to sit through what felt like over 5 minutes of credits at the start of the film. I almost starting laughing at how weird it was as I’ve never seen anything like that before. Start off the film and I already wanted to leave.  You ever watch a film that you feel like was just made for you? This felt like the opposite of that for me. It was very well made, I enjoyed some of the cinematography and Cate Blanchett was very good. A lot of people are obsessed with her I guess but I never really liked her that much, but I respected her acting in this, she was good. The film really just wasn’t for me. It felt really pretentious and was about characters that also felt just as pretentious. I did like her breakdown towards the end and I did find her character quite interesting, but overall, at the risk of personally offending my friends who love this film, I found it really boring and was kinda just waiting for it to end. I wasn’t a fan of the ending but I don’t think I really understood what was going on so maybe it was really good.  Didn’t think the film would be for me but I held out hope considering how much my friends liked it, my friend I watched it with had already seen it before and loved it, really it was kinda exactly what I expected, a good film but not my kinda thing.  5.9/10
