This was a good film, it was directed by the man who brought us the show that no one (including me) will shut up about at the moment, squid game. The films about an art teacher that goes to work at a new school for deaf children and discovers the kids there are being sexually and physically abused. I have never been so disgusted watching a film, the abuse scenes are graphic and horrible and it was based on a true story which is sickening. I did some research / googled it and this film actually made a difference. “Two months after Silenced came out in cinemas, Gwangju City officially closed the school in November 2011.” “Silenced (2011) caused an uproar among the Korean public and eventually put pressure on politicians. In October 2011, the South Korean parliament passed the Dogani Bill which eliminated the statute of limitations for sex crimes against children under 13 and disabled women. Additionally, the bill increased the maximum penalty to life in prison.“  I think it’s amazing that a film can make such a good difference in the world. The acting from the main guy (the guy who gave people the cards in Squid Game) was really good. His character was great as well, you really felt for him, it must have been difficult doing the right thing, though I’m sure most decent people would do the same thing, the fact he stuck with it even though it affected his life and his daughter was really admirable.  The child acting was really good too, it must have been really weird filming such horrifying scenes and I’m not sure how that would have worked as everyone on set especially all the actors must have felt uncomfortable, but they did a good job acting in some really emotional scenes.  The film was hard to watch and incredibly sad, but it was definitely well made. I like the directors  (can’t say or spell his name yet) filmmaking style and I’ll definitely watch more of his films. I would recommend this to anyone who loved squid game, but I think maybe watch a different one if you aren’t into films that are this difficult to watch.  8.5/10
