Honestly one of the most unique romance films I’ve ever seen. No part of it disappointed me at all every decision they made with the characters was perfect. A beautifully written script, it was so simple yet so impactful.
From the opening scene it was perfect, what a smart way to start a film, showing a situation from an outside perspective. I loved the scene where she was in bed talking to her husband, and towards for the whole sequence at the pub this film cemented its self as a great film, with a perfect ending.
The cinematography was great, the acting was great, but the script was definitely a stand out for me. I loved the husband, he was completely self aware, in an ordinary film, from no fault of his own, he’s the guy we route against, but he was too likeable for you to route against him, which is why the ending was so perfect.
Such a great way to show someone from another country rediscovering their routes, through connecting with someone from their past. The film felt so real, my favourite kinda film, very character driven and emotional but not too crazy and unbelievable. Loved it, very unique, one of the best films of the year, maybe the best I just love Barbie too much to admit that to myself. Will definitely watch again.
