It’s finally here, if Barbie didn’t come out on the same day I probably wouldn’t have watched this. I don’t like Christopher Nolan’s films. But it’s barbenheimer and I had to see it. Funny that most of this films hype came from a completely unrelated movie that came out on the same day, usually they avoid grieving big films the same release date but honestly this was genius. Whenever I think about this film for the rest of my life I will think about Barbie. I’ve never in my life been so excited for a film I didn’t actually want to see.
This was boring as hell. It got interesting at times, but it was so long and so intense the whole time even when it didn’t need to be that intense. Just like every nolan film it was unnecessarily confusing and hard to keep up with, I managed to pay attention for the most part but it’s so much confusing shit and so long it’s quite hard to know what’s going on unless your really invested.
Acting was good, I love cillian Murphy, love RDJ, couple of actors popped up, jack quaid was in it and I was like cool, rami Malik was in it and I was like nice, josh peck was in it and I thought that was quite funny and finally Casey afflec was in it and I was like Nicee and then remembered he’s some kinda creepy sex offender and was like less nice.
Einstein was in it and everyone laughed when he popped up, not sure why. He just felt a bit out of place I guess.
The female characters weren’t written too well, Oppenheimer was a really interesting character but the films just way too long I got so bored. Never been to a film with an intermission before, but it stopped in a really random place and gave us a 15 minute break. Preferred the second half to the first because more cool shit happened but it was still boring and the whole time I just wanted it to be over so I could watch Barbie.
The bomb going off scene looked really good and the sound for it was quite good, the sound in this was definitely better than tenet but I still have similar problems with it.
Honestly I think I just don’t like Christopher Nolan films. They are ok and I can appreciate he’s an incredible film maker, but other than the dark night and Memento I never really enjoy watching any of them.
