“Two boys. One can’t remember. The other can’t forget”
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film quite like this before. It may be one of the most disturbing films I’ve ever seen, but in a really sad and depressing way.
Joseph Gordon Levitt is quite a versatile actor. Maybe one of my favourites. Was thinking about watching this film and when I saw he was in it I put it straight on. His character in this is somewhere between Hesher and 50/50, probably more like Hesher. His character was the most disturbing and the film very quickly gets in to why this is. The other kid was played by Brady Corbet, who did very well. The contrast between the two characters, the one who can’t remember and the one who can’t forget, was the most interesting part of the film. They don’t meet until the end which is probably one of the best scenes in the film, very emotional and shocking. He also gave a very good performance in the scene when he was shouting at his dad.
Honestly just a very hard film to watch, but amazing nonetheless. Very well written characters and I enjoyed the editing.
