I Want to Eat Your Pancreas 2018

I’ve known about this film (I thought it was a show) for a while because once you hear a title like “I want to eat your pancreas” it’s kind of hard to forget. Anyone wondering it’s not just some ironic title that they named it just to get peoples attention…. Well I guess it kind of still is but the film genuinely has something to do with a pancreas, and she actually tells the guy that she wants to eat his pancreas.  Ever since I watched your name and a silent voice, 2 of my favourite films, I've been looking for a film just like them, this is the closest one I've found to them so far and I liked it quite a bit. It’s a really nice looking film, I enjoyed the animation. I also quite like how it starts with the main girls funeral, though I hate comparing stuff to the shit show that is 13 reasons why, stuff like that when you know the characters going to die just turns every happy moment into a sad moment, and I find that quite interesting to watch.  I liked most of the characters overall, though they did do some weird and annoying stuff that made it slightly harder for me to like them. The main girl does some messed up stuff, if you’ve watched it I’m talking about the “prank” she played on him while they were at her house, kinda made me hate her a little, what the guy did in response the that “prank” was equally as fucked up. Also her best friend kinda hates him for no reason so that was a little weird and other than them there aren’t any good characters. There’s the gum guy, but I still don’t get what his deal was.  Really loved the ending. Another film that made me cry. Just coz we knew she was going to die really didn’t make it any less sad. Anyone who missed the after credits, go back and watch them they are amazing.  Nice film, good characters, heart warming story, great animation. Would recommend to any anime fans out there.  8.5/10 At the start of the film the guy is wearing an NDL T-shirt.
