Was meant to see Babylon today but didn’t so decided to watch another Damien Chazelle film instead.
I don’t think this was a very good biopic, the only character I liked was Neil but I didn’t really like Ryan Gosling in the role. I like the actor tho.
Moon landing being fake is like the only conspiracy theory I kinda think could be true, maybe this is all just fiction.
The moon stuff was cool, if the moon landing was real this was a film about one of the coolest things ever, I think the stuff on the moon was filmed really well, I really liked how silent it was to empathise how quiet it would have been for Neil Armstrong in space if he actually ever went on the moon.
Found it interesting learning about some of the stuff that happened before the moon landing, like the protests and Neil Armstrong's friends unfortunately being killed. But I didn’t really like anything else about the film. I think I would have liked it more if it focused more on the public's reaction to the space race, as it was an interesting debate, should tax payers dollars be spent on something that seems so important yet pointless at the same time. I think if it focused more on this and on why Neil wants to go to space so bad I would have enjoyed it more. Also none of the family were too interesting and I think it could have done a better job at showing how Neil’s daughter's death affected him. I also found all the drawn out shots of people panicking while in a speeding rocket kinda boring.
I’d like to clarify I was joking I don’t think the moon landing was fake. Think there is a possibility it could have been though.
