I love films because of films like these. Sometimes you watch a film that’s so amazing that it makes you feel something, like it has almost changed you in a way. Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind was one of those film for me. Normally when I see these films I’m alone, but first time I saw this I was sitting with my whole school in college, they played this, it ended and I just sat there amazed. I don’t think that had ever happened to me before, at least when I was with other people. Now I’m getting more into the genius that is Charlie Kaufman I thought I’d rewatch this, I was on the train for most of it which probably wasn’t the best time to watch it but I still enjoyed it immensely. The best breakup film ever made. I love this film so much. Jim Carrey’s best film in my opinion. It also has Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood and Mary Jane Watson. Jim Carrey is amazing and he gives a non comedic heartwarming performance. The writing in this film is honestly genius, the non linear structure was amazing and it’s honestly such a unique and incredible way to structure a breakup film. Incredible. One of my favourite films of all time, I couldn’t recommend it more, the first time I watched it my highlight was the way it played with his memories by using incredible film making techniques. This time I was just amazed by the writing and structure. The way it started at the end but also the beginning. I don’t wanna give anything away. Watch this film. 8.8/10
