This film is so cool. A found footage film about three regular guys who randomly get superpowers. Such a cool concept. And seeing the three guys hang out and use their powers in a really realistic way for people like them, it was super wholesome and fun to watch.  Didn’t really like anything else about the film though. The way the found footage was done, having characters film at unnatural times that just felt really weird because it really didn’t make sense at all for the character to be filming. At one point there was a camera filming him when he was passed out in the hospital and I’m really confused as to why it was filming him. Also having it cut to random perspectives was kind of annoying. Found footage films are good because of how realistic they are, it makes you think this could have really happened, which is such a cool thing to do for super powers coz it really makes you think about how this would all play out if it really happened or even if it happened to you. I feel like when you cut to random perspectives like strangers camera phones, it kinda takes away from that realism. But I do really like the idea of doing a super power film with found footage, it kinda reminds me of a film I really used to like called project almanac, which kinda does the same thing but with time travel. It does have this kind of unique thing it does with the camera tho where they float it with their powers, which leads to some kind of cool shots that wouldn’t have been possible in a regular found footage film.  Also I really liked Michael B Jordan in this film and I really wish his character was in it more. When they were all hanging out flying around, that was when this movie peaked. “The best day of their lives” was the best moment in the film. I think having that character around for the end of the film would have added to it a lot and it felt really cheap how that all went down. The whole ending I didn’t really like, in another film where you see the power slowly corrupt this guy I think it could have been good, but he was too creepy at the start that once he finally became likeable, the ending just disappointed me. Some cool moments in the action but overall the main character just felt really unjustified and his motivations felt really forced. The character just seemed like he was going completely crazy and I think considering all he was going through with his parents and at school, it could have been done in a way more realistic way that I would have really enjoyed. If the film did this right it would have been interesting enough that the found footage stuff would have maybe even just made it worse.  Again this is a really cool film and there’s a lot right about it, but there’s also a lot about it that didn’t work for me. Specifically the main character just wasn’t written well in my opinion. Cool enough concept for me to have now watched this twice tho.  6.9/10
