This film brought out unresolved childhood issues I didn’t know I had. Honestly it was kinda distracting, I was trying to watch the film but my mind kept wondering on to moments from when I was a kid. It was an experience. I really like joker and her but I think this may be one of my favourite Joaquin Phoenix films, the acting from him and the kid was really moving, which is an adjective I haven’t used before in a film review. There were some beautiful moments that felt very real, the story was so simple yet complex at the same time yet I feel like I really understood it. The way it used the sound recording equipment in the film was really unique and I loved all the deep conversations between Johnny and Jessie, like when Jonny explains to Jessie that he won’t remember any of this stuff when he’s older. Honestly not much happened in this film and in about a week I’ll probably struggle even explaining the sinopsis, but honestly right now the best word I can use to describe it is beautiful. The cinematography, the characters, the soundtrack, the whole thing, truly just beautiful… 8.5/10
