Never watched a Coen brothers film so I’m doing it in order starting with blood simple so that’s 1/20. The instant standout in this film were the extremely dynamic shots, honestly such creative cinematography. I also liked the way all the characters were introduced and I found the film really interesting at first. It lost me around the 50 minute mark though when it turned into a thriller, films like that I don’t really find enjoyable, though the knife in the hand bit was cool, really wasn’t at all a fan of the final scene or really anything after the burial scene, which was pretty messed up by the way. Very impressed with the film though, lots of memorable shots and I was really loving the film until the main character *spoiler* died. Definitely a nice introduction to the coen brothers and I’m really excited to watch Raising Arizona next.  Recently watched a film called LaRoy Texas which I loved and I saw a lot of similarities in this film. Love the whole Texas, hit men and cheating wives' vibe both the films have.  7.1/10
