I really enjoyed this. I need to watch more Japanese films. Japan is such a beautiful country, some of the exterior shots just look so aesthetic I fckn love Japan.  This film was about Takeshi Kitano, who’s name you may recognise from the popular Japanese tv show Takeshi’s castle. (Pretty much a cooler Japanese version of total wipeout). He’s a Japanese comedian and actor and this film is about his start in comedy.  The thing I liked most about this film was the relationship between the two main characters, takeshi and fukami senzaburo. Their friendship was incredibly heartwarming and I loved it. The ending was kinda predictable yet still sad, but the final scene of them two when they went out to the bar was amazing. I also really loved the actual ending with the older takeshi.  The tap dancing stuff was really cool, another favourite moment for me is when takeshi is about to go on tv for the first time and he’s tap dancing.  Really cool film, I really liked it.  7.8/10
