I’m not entirely sure if this is a film or series but I’m just gonna log it and assume it’s a film since that’s how I watched it.
I’ve been told this review is too spoilery but it’s the same film just longer so I didn’t really care, maybe if u don’t wanna know about the 2 tiny surprise cameos don’t read this.
I’m angry at the world for convincing me to watch a longer version of a shitty film I never wanted to watch again. 4 hours of my life. It’s a 4 hour film...... 4 hours......4.....
It’s my own fault for watching it, it’s just coz this was so hyped. I was never really a fan of Zack Snyder in the first place, I don’t like man of steel or Batman vs superman they are both garbage.
I would love to tell you about all the crazy differences between this and the original, but thankfully I don’t remember the original too well. This could just be the same film but longer and a different aspect ratio.
I’m pretty sure the original film didn’t have the cyborg origin which was nice to see, if all that shit was cut out it kinda makes sense he sued them last time, don’t know much about that though other than it was because of racism. Flash is my favourite DC superhero and I quite like Ezra Miller, I love how Barry’s Dad and Iris west are in this as it gives us more of a reason to like him, I’m pretty sure in the first film his first scene was the one where he joined the justice league straight away because he had no friends. Exited for the flashpoint film. Also after watching Gone Girl I actually like Ben Affleck so I didn’t mind him as much as Batman, I mean he still isn’t a good Batman but I can look past that now. But Batman should never be the worst character of any film ever so that’s really disappointing, hopefully Robert Pattinson will make up for it though. I don’t remember green lantern being in the original, it was an old one and it was only a tiny cameo but still kind of cool. Martian Manhunter definitely wasn’t in the original, that really shocked me. I am also a fan of what they did with the aspect ratio, something that’s never been done in a comic book movie before and it was a bold choice that works, looked really nice at some points. Still has many of the problems of the original film though, stupid, kinda cringe dialogue at times and it’s pretty boring too, most of the time that’s coz it’s 4 hours long. As characters, most of them are done better, I think mostly because they had more time to flesh them out, but as a team they had little chemistry, felt forced and it was just done weird, especially since this is supposed the be the justice league film not the Batman, flash, Wonder Woman, cyborg, aqua man and superman film. In the avengers the team kinda felt like a character in itself, I could watch an avengers film even now all the best characters are gone, but if you had never heard of justice league before watching this you wouldn’t give a shit about the team, you’d like the characters and might think it’s cool seeing them interact, but it just feels like it’s missing something. The villains aren’t really done too well either, they were boring. Also the leitmotif for Wonder Woman / the Amazons started to piss me off some reason. Was starting to think there wasn’t going to be a joker scene, I heard they did reshoots with the joker, I wouldn’t have been entirely disappointed if he wasn’t in it coz he is the worst joker ever but it was weirdly cool to see him at the end.
Overall better than the original, it was actually kind of cool sometimes seeing the justice league all together, but still not a great film. The ending was better I think but the final battle did feel a bit underwhelming, I liked the apocalyptic ending scene after the Lex Luthor stuff, it looked a lot like they they were setting up other films but I’m confused, is Ben Affleck gonna play Bruce Wayne again now we have Pattinson? The first film was dreadful and this wasn’t, which is somewhat impressive, but this still isn’t that good, I’d imagine it’d be hard to make a film as bad as justice league good even it was passed on to Christopher Nolan, but props to Zack for trying.
I wish they would do this for a film I actually liked, like a 5 hour avengers infinity war or one of the Harry potters, like the Half-Blood Prince.
This film is 4 hours long.
