On the surface this film is about a group of people who have been labelled “villains”, working together to save the world. But really, this film is about one man and one man alone, he isn’t strong, but yet he defies all odds and sacrifices his life to save his friends. His only power is his bravery, he is the driver of the van and the main character of this film. Milton.
If you haven’t seen this film yet ignore all that ^
James Gunn you are a genius, he should just be given all superhero films from now on, how did he manage to make a sequel for what is probably one of the top 5 worst dc films ever made, and have it be probably one of the top 5 best. This film is so fun and I’m so glad I saw it at the cinema, it’s very funny and very gorey, it has some great casting with some great actors and an amazing sound track. I just love James Gunn’s style and this was surprising just as good as guardians of the galaxy.
So I’ve seen 3 films at the cinema since they reopened, every single one of them I was late and missed an important part of the film. I was really exited to see Pete Davidson in this as I quite like him, as I walked into the cinema he was already on the screen. I heard him say one line and I don’t know what it was, but I never saw him again for the rest of the film and I’m really confused. I swear I remember seeing him in all the promotion, I didn’t even notice until I left the film and I was sitting in the car and suddenly I realised “hold up, where the hell was Pete Davidson”. Idk maybe someone can explain it to me coz I’m confused.
The acting was really good, Idris Elba, I can’t really remember what films he’s in but he was great in this, I loved the dynamic between him and John Cena’s character, peace maker, who by the way gave one of the best performances I’ve seen from him. At times this film was kind of simple, it doesn’t have a great villain just a really cool and big one, but it’s simplicity is what made me like it so much, it was just so fun. King shark was a great character, really funny. Harley Quinn great as always. Peter Capaldi great as the thinker though he didn’t really do too much. The villains were shit but who cares really, all that mattered was the giant one at the end and the fun chemistry between all the characters. Genuinely one of my favourite superhero films I’ve ever watched and I nearly didn’t see it at the cinema as I didn’t really care too much about it. I’m so glad I did.
8.6/10
So I’ve watched the intro now and turns out I was 12 minutes late, I kinda perfectly missed all of team one which is why I was confused, was a pretty great intro, I need to start aiming to make it to the cinema early.
