Not sure if I liked this. I didn’t find it amazing but it was somewhat interesting. Adam Driver gave a good performance and this may be my first time I’ve seen Greta Gerwig act, only know her for her directing, she was pretty good in this.
This film is about death. I found that aspect of it very relatable. 2 people who are scared of death. We are all scared of death and all spend our lives coming to terms with the fact we are all going to die. If there was a pill that could eradicate that fear or death, would you take it and to what lengths would you go to to get your hands on it? Found that interesting, made me like the film a little more.
Overall there’s a lot of characters that don’t really stand out. Best performance I’ve seen from Don Cheadle but I feel like I’ve never really seen a good performance from Don Cheadle. The film felt a little pretentious and annoying and I didn’t have much fun watching it but I’m not sure I understood it completely. Although there were aspects of it I liked and it wasn’t completely terrible. I always list Noah Baumbach as one of my main creative influences even though the only film I’ve seen from him is marriage story so glad I’ve seen another film from him now. I preferred marriage story though.
I like Adam Driver I think he’s a really good actor but he can come across as quite whiny and annoying sometimes.
Ok film, wasn’t very memorable for me. Made me think about death though so that was cool.
