The venom trilogy will go down in history as a pretty bad trilogy, which I think is a shame. All 3 films had pretty shitty writing but there’s also a lot of good to be found in there. This film was pretty bad but I think it really had potential. Eddie and venom are two of the greatest characters of any marvel film, their chemistry is amazing and it has completely carried the whole trilogy. Their relationship in this film was the only good thing about the last two films and here it was maybe the strongest so far, but there is nothing else good about the story. I really loved seeing how their friendship has progressed and it was a great ending to their story, this film also had the alien hunting family which were a pretty nice addition, but everything else about it was pretty bad.  The girl whose brother was struck by lightning was such a poorly written character, they really tried forcing her backstory in a really unnatural way it felt really stupid and it annoyed me.  The villain was so generic.  Venom and eddies storyline was really good though which is the only reason I kept watching these films. But it’s just a shame. They could have actually done something really cool with these characters and made a really good film, but the Sony extended universe really just incapable of making a good film. This film was pretty bad and it may even be the best thing they’ve ever done.  I really would like to see them do something more with these characters one day as they had a lot of potential. I don’t want another venom film though unless it’s a Logan esc bromance film, but I wouldn’t be too mad a a tiny cameo in Spiderman.  Their relationship montage at the end was so stupid but it kinda worked. I couldn’t tell if it was a joke, it was so dumb but I kinda liked it, though it would have been nice to get a real ending for Eddie to see where his life ended up after losing venom, considering the whole film was just him and venom on some adventure, the ending was sweet with the Statue of Liberty but it did feel a little rushed. Anyway final thoughts, venom and eddie were funny and well written characters, everything else about this was bad, so it kinda evens out. 7.0/10
