Akira 1988

I’d recommend this film to you for the animation alone, it’s incredible. So much time and effort went into animating this film and it’s evident in every frame. This film was released in 1988 and it still holds up as one of the best looking animated films of all time, there are films like “your name” that I may think look better overall, but the detail in every frame of this film is just insane and it really made this movie. This film was set in 2019, which was the year I first tried watching it, but I got bored and only watched like 40 minutes. This happened again 3 more times but I never got as far as 40 minutes again until now. It was slightly boring, I had to force myself to sit through it and it still took me 4 sittings but I got to the end this time. I don’t completely understand what happened now it’s over, but I know it was cool. I really liked the characters, tetsuo and Kaneda in particular (no idea if I got the names right) and there were some really awesome scenes. I do like this movie because of the great soundtrack and the amazing animation and interesting characters and concept, but yeah some reason I was just bored Most of the way through and I wasn’t fully paying attention.  7.9/10
