The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent 2022
Directed by Tom Gormican107 minAction · Comedy · Crime
Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, Nick Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan. Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

I’ve not seen pig yet but this is probably my favourite Nick Cage film. Really fun watch.
Such an interesting new type of film, where Nick Cage plays himself. I know this isn’t based on a true story but I like to think it was. Pretty dumb film like a lot of Nick Cage films but in the best way possible, it was funny and self aware and a stupid yet cool action film that is also pretty wholesome. Some of the family stuff is kinda hard to watch, Cage doesn’t come off well in some scenes. It also feels really stupid at points but that’s also what I loved about it. The LSD scene was really fun to watch. All of the CIA stuff also wasn’t that great, but once you just accept the stupidity of the film I feel like it becomes way more enjoyable.
Overall just a fun film that I would recommend, especially to anyone who’s a big Nick Cage fan.
Nick Cage is his own genre.
