The Royal Tenenbaums 2001
Directed by Wes Anderson110 minComedy · Drama
Royal Tenenbaum and his wife Etheline had three children and then they separated. All three children are extraordinary --- all geniuses. Virtually all memory of the brilliance of the young Tenenbaums was subsequently erased by two decades of betrayal, failure, and disaster. Most of this was generally considered to be their father's fault. "The Royal Tenenbaums" is the story of the family's sudden, unexpected reunion one recent winter.

3rd film down of the 24 hour Wes fest. It’s now 18:00 and I’m on a dinner break. Starting to go a bit crazy, feeling really uncomfortable, don’t think I’ll make it much longer, but hopefully my food will fuel me for a little bit.
3rd film was The Royal Tenenbaums, which may be my favourite again so far, but I’ve said that about all of them. Each film feels more and more Wes Anderson and this was almost the perfect one, loved all the actors. My favourite would be Ben stillers character, who was very well written and acted.
Honestly I was getting a bit emotional at the end, loved the film, very well made, funny and sad, so good.
Finding it hard to review these films as after watching 3 films in the cinema back to back my brain is losing me a little.
Love that the film started with hey Jude.
Definitely my favourite Gwyneth Paltrow role, she was very likeable in this. All the characters were, it was such an interesting family and I found each of them to be individually quite interesting, probably some of the most well crafted characters I’ve seen from a Wes Anderson film.
This 24 hour film thing is quite a fun experience but I do honestly feel at this point like I’m losing my mind.
The game they gave us on this break was they hid a bunch of pictures of Wes Anderson around the cinema and whoever brings one back gets a prize. I went to go get food instead as I feel like I’m dying.
Just loved how the film all came together at the end, really just an incredibly well made film. Wes Anderson is a very talented filmmaker.
I was told before watching this that this was his worst film, I definitely disagree.
