I genuinely have no idea if I’ve seen this film before. I’ve seen the first half of the first movie like 5 times, but I keep turning it off because I keep attempting to watch the extended cut.  I feel like I must have seen it because it’s lord of the rings, one of the greatest trilogies of all time. I’ve definitely seen the hobbit and a lot of this seems familiar.  Anyway I found it to be quite difficult to watch. I am still attempting to watch the extended cuts and each one is around 4 hours, which has been incredibly difficult for me to get through.  Though the first act of the first film was amazing, I much preferred this film, mostly due to Gollum being my favourite character. What Andy Serkis was able to pull off with this performance is honestly so impressive and my favourite thing about the lord of the rings by far. Also samwise the brave is a great character too.  I don’t think long battle sequences are my thing at all, and even though the LOTR contains some of the greatest battle scenes of all time, I still don’t really enjoy them as much as I enjoy watching Frodo and Sam talk to Smeagol. I still love all the characters I’m just not exactly loving the process of actually watching these films as I’ve kind of had to force myself to get through them. I think I would like this a lot more if I stopped watching the extended editions, but I’ve come this far. it’s Lord of the Rings though and I wanna like it so bad so I’m just gonna continue to pretend I love it . 7.5/10
