I wasn’t too hyped about this film, but I liked the first Shazam film and I love Zachary Levi as he was in one of the first tv shows I binge watched called chuck. If anyone’s seen chuck I’d love to talk about it with someone coz it was me of my favourite shows and no one’s seen it. I also really like Freddie’s character and the older version of him is played by Adam brody who is another actor I like a lot, who was in a show called the O.C. I also really respect the director as he’s a YouTuber who continued to made videos after he made it big so check out pony smasher on YouTube as his videos are really good.  In my opinion… huge step down from the first film. It wasn’t awful, but to me the first one felt like it was a different kind of superhero film, bringing something new to an already oversaturated genre, but in comparison this feels really generic and boring.  I don’t think I like the superhero family stuff, there’s too many of them it feels messy and all over the place. The villains were kinda mid, tho I did like seeing Freddie and Anne as Freddie is just kinda the best character.  I like Levi, but I also quite like Billy’s actor too, and it feels like we barley see him in this, he’s always in superhero form and it really misses out on what could have been some good character development for him with him turning 18 and leaving the foster care system, but they made his character really boring in this which is annoying as him and Freddie were what made the first one so great, not just the cool super hero, it was about the foster kid looking for his mum and finding a family, in this film it felt like they cared about making a generic superhero film more than giving any development to Billy’s character, and with the whole family having powers now it all just feels a bit too much and didn’t work for me anywhere near as much as the first one did.  One thing that bugs me about Billy as well, the fact Zachary Levi acts like a child, I know that’s the gimmick as he’s a kid that turns into a man, but in this Billy is nearly 18 years old and feels more like an adult when he’s in his younger self, just feels a bit weird. I would have liked to see just one scene of regular billy interacting with the villain rather than just Freddie. Freddie is a great character on his own, imagine if he stayed in super hero form the whole time it would have been such a waste, yet they do the same thing with billy just because he’s the main character it’s just kind of annoying.  Cool dragons and stuff I guess.  5.9/10 After credits  7/10
