Nowhere 1997
Directed by Gregg Araki83 minComedy · Drama · Science Fiction
In Los Angeles, a colorful assortment of bohemians try to make sense of their intersecting lives. The moody Dark Smith, his bisexual girlfriend, her lesbian lover and their shy gay friend plan on attending the wildest party of the year. But they'll only make it if they can survive the drug trips, suicides, trysts, mutilations and alien abductions that occur as one surreal day unfolds.

Teenage apocalypse trilogy 3/3.
This film had the teen aspects of totally fucked up, being described as “90210 on acid” and then all the strange randomness from the doom generation. It was a very weird film. The ending was very strange, it was a bit messed up but in a really random why were your just sitting there like ….. why?
I think it has a bit of a cult following which definitely makes sense. I don’t think the films that good. Because of how random it was I found it kinda hard to keep track of what was going on.
Watched mysterious skin a couple of weeks ago and now I’ve seen 5 Greg Araki films. None of them have come close to mysterious skin but I have enjoyed watching them, partly because of how short and easy to watch they are. I was supposed to watch Babylon today but ended up not going and I just watched 3 films that when added up equal to what is basically Babylon's run time.
The ending felt somewhat similar to how they ended the doom generation with James Duvals character. They tease him with a somewhat happier ending and then give us some weird unexpected ending, except this film it was even more random and unexpected, kinda like a weird joke from Rick and Morty except tonally more depressing and seeing it in live action makes it more messed up.
Didn’t really care about any of the characters. I guess I kinda liked James Duval the best which isn’t great considering how annoying I find him. But after watching 3 of his films in a row I may be warming up to him a little.
If I had to rank all 3 of the films I’d probably put this in the middle.
6.3/10
