Directed by Kenji Nagasaki105 minAnimation · Action · Adventure · Science Fiction
A mysterious group called Humarize strongly believes in the Quirk Singularity Doomsday theory which states that when quirks get mixed further in with future generations, that power will bring forth the end of humanity. In order to save everyone, the Pro-Heroes around the world ask UA Academy heroes-in-training to assist them and form a world-class selected hero team. It’s up to the heroes to save the world and the future of heroes in what is the most dangerous crisis to take place yet in My Hero Academia.

So I saw this at the cinema. Nowhere nearby was showing it so it was an hour an a half on a bus with a suicidal driver, scariest bus ride of my life. Was it worth it? I guess so….. I can’t even decide if it was better than the other two, it was kinda just exactly what you would except from a mha film, a cool villain, some cool new characters, some cool fights from the side characters and one crazy fight at the end where Deku pushes past his limits. Pretty much the same as the other two. It wasn’t as insane (yet stupid) as the last one and it wasn’t as grounded and solid as the first one. It had some crazy fight scenes from Deku using black whip and toderoki and bakugo just doing their thing. None of the other character really did anything at all, they were in the film but really weren’t as important, which I’m actually happy about, I think mha is best when it isn’t focusing on minetta and the pink girl.
The main reason this film was actually quite good though was the side character who’s name I’ve forgotten. The guy with the pink bird. The villains were probably way weaker than they were in the last two films but the side character was this films strong point. The character had an interesting backstory that tied really nicely into the overall plot, he had some really cool moments especially at the end. He was funny and likeable yet still kinda cool, and him and dekus friendship was my favourite part of the film. Them saying goodbye to each other at the end was a really nice moment, and his character development was really good.
Each mha film has been around the same level now for different reasons. I will continue to watch them all at the cinema as long as they keep realising them even if I have to repeat that bus ride from hell where I was like 10% sure I was gonna die. Nice film, nothing too amazing but I had a nice time.
7.8/10
