Luca and his best friend Alberto experience an unforgettable summer on the Italian Riviera. But all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.

This film was ok but it was mostly just a shittier version of the little mermaid. It started off great, and I thought it was interesting how he wanted to experience the human world (exactly like the little mermaid) and then we met…. I think his name was Alberto …. And him and Luca’s friendship was a highlight of the film for me. Then they introduced other characters, one being the most annoying villains to ever come out of Disney, the scene where they tried to make him intimidating by beating up the little kids was laughable, he really was awful. We also met the girl who was sort of annoying but somewhat bearable. As always with Pixar the animation doesn’t miss, it looked really good. The whole B plot with his parents was kind of boring, I kinda wish Luca’s uncle took him at the beginning and the whole thing was just Disney Pixar borat with Sacha Baron Cohen. I also think they kinda overused the them accidentally getting wet and turning into the sea monster joke, I’m not sure if you’d call it a joke but they kept doing it and it got old quick.  The only reason I’m not rating this film lower was because I actually really enjoyed the relationship between Luca and Alberto, other than that though this was a very mediocre Pixar film. The characters, plot and ending were all kind of meh, but it was watchable.  As I was writing this review the after credits unexpectedly played, I’m now going to give this film an extra decimal point because Sacha Baron Cohen. Watch the after credits.  6.8/10
