The xxxtentacion documentary that I have been waiting years for is finally here. We got our first trailer on the 18th of June 2019 and now finally we have the film. When this trailer dropped Juice Wrld was still alive. It’s so weird that it’s been so long since this legend died.
Xxxtentacion probably wasn’t the best person to look up to. He did some bad shit. But he made music for people feeling down, and he helped a lot of people, including me. At a pretty shitty time in my life, I would come to school every day and literally listen to 17 and ? On repeat from the start of the day to the end with no breaks. He genuinely helped me and because of that, he will always be someone I have a lot of respect and admiration for. Without X I genuinely believe I would be a different person.
This documentary was very honest and I liked that. Jahseh Onfroy did a lot of bad shit. This is something I’ve always known but not looked into too much, hearing about what he actually did in detail was hard to hear, especially when some of it was on camera, this is a guy I genuinely look up to and I didn’t want to think of him in that way. But yeah I don’t agree with the bad shit he did and I’m sure most of his fans don’t either, but this doc also showed us the reasons a lot of us still respected him despite his flaws, without shying away from some of the awful shit he did.
Jah was a very interesting person, which is why I was so exited for a doc about him, it’s a story I already know a lot about, but seeing it in detail, learning about his friends and his family, finally hearing Geneva’s side of the story too, it was exactly what I wanted. There’s shit that could have been better but overall I think it was almost worth the wait.
I will be watching this again.. and I will most likely have a lot more to say about X… right now though I’m tired and I wanna fall asleep listening to ?
