This is probably one of my favourite documentaries, maybe one of my favourite films of the year.
Travis Scott documentary I hated coz I couldn’t care about Travis Scott, but this was similar in the way that it felt like you were just hanging out with juice, and unlike travis juice has had a massive effect on my life, so seeing this really resonated with me.
Most of it was just shots with no cuts, of juice just chilling with his friends, then going into a freestyle, it really felt like you were there with him and I loved it.
There were also shots of him vibing to x, there was stuff about his relationship, his mental health and of course his death. It was really interesting, and being a big fan of him, I loved it so much. The way it explained his life, but not in typical documentary fashion with interviews about his childhood, it all felt really real, stuff taken from real conversations or concerts. I loved it whenever one of his songs came on as me and my roommate would sing along.
Learning exactly how he died was really emotional. I didn’t know all the details and being told in that way by the people that were there, with videos from the day, really messed me up.
Whenever I was sad in secondary school before he died, I would listen to him, like Benny Blanco said he was a therapist to millions of kids around the world and I was one of them, I feel like I still hadn’t processed his death and this documentary helped me get there and I love it for that.
This was amazing, now we just need the X one.
