My dad couldn't believe it when I said I had never watched John Wick, I said it looked boring and I don't like action films, he said "how can you know it's boring if you haven't seen it?". I did like "nobody" which is like the same thing so I couldn't really argue with that, but now I've seen it and it was even worse than I thought it would be. (also sorry Dad for watching this and Dog Day Afternoon instead of doing school work, I'll do it right now I swear...)
Sure this film was cool, just like most of the action films I didn't like, it being cool was one of the only good things about it. sorry to anyone who's favorite film I'm insulting, like I said I don't really like action films, (not including the classic stuff like die hard) I think they are boring and repetitive, and yeah, that's exactly what I thought this film was.
The editing got on my nerves, I don't know why I didn't like the flashbacks, I think they just felt lazy and uninteresting. The plot is super simple and annoyingly predictable so the only real reason to watch this is if you like awesome fight scenes (which I don't). yeah it was cool to see keanu reeves shoot, stab and snap people's necks in the very well choreographed fight scenes but only for like 5 minutes, after that I was just waiting for the film to end. also to be honest (sorry) the acting wasn't even that good. I know a lot of people like this film so I am sorry but the 2 minute montages of people loading guns or smashing floors with sledgehammers to find guns just didn't do it for me. struggle to get through, it took me like a week to finish the last 15 minutes, so boring.
maybe the sequels are better?
