I don’t wanna read any other review for this coz I don’t wanna hear anyone talk shit about it. I get it may be kinda dumb, it has a simple premise and some of the moments felt kinda outlandish and weird but, I loved it. Partly because Charlie Day is just one of the best people. He’s so likeable and his character was perfect. The girl was really cool too. Like I said the story was dumb but the characters and the jokes that made me laugh out loud even though they weren’t even that funny, made me really enjoy this.
Ben McKenzie from the OC was only in this for a minute but his scene made me laugh out loud a lot and it made me happy. Also Pete Davidson was pretty funny, his other film, big time adolescence was directed by the same guy and I like that film too, so I’ll have to remember this director and look out for his future films coz I’ve liked 2/2 so far. Jason Orley.
The ending was sudden and unexpected, I thought it was really cool but again it felt a little unbelievable. I kinda wish I could have had a more complete ending, I feel like it wouldn’t have been that hard to add another scene. I’m torn coz it was a great ending and it was cool how they did it but I feel like they sacrificed a natural ending for the characters by trying to do something special. Saying that though the way it ended still had me crying.
Another thing is Charlie day and Noah’s bromance was one of the best parts of this film and it was left unresolved.
Charlie day is great.
