This film is weird. That it it’s just weird, I can’t believe Neil Gaiman has anything to do with it, but the whole film was based on his short story and he was the executive producer. What the fuck did I just watch. It started off looking like it would be a fairly average movie, but as soon as they entered that party it all went to shit. I’m doing an a24 marathon and I’m glad I started with the worst because I don’t think I can deal with a film even remotely like this for at least another month. Honestly I’d like to point out to you everything that was wrong with this film but I don’t understand it myself. Though I was happy to see Ethan Lawrence in it being a fan of bad education, though he didn’t have too big of a role and played a horny punk kid. The song was ok until they went onto some weird dimensional shit, “eat me alive, mommy, eat me alive, daddy daddy” that was a film I’m fairly certain I will never watch again. If you loved this film I’m sorry you’re just as crazy as the people in this movie, or maybe I’m crazy, or I just didn’t understand it, I don’t know but I wish I never watched it. I’m gonna go take a long shower and watch fight club to get the awful taste of “how to talk to girls at parties” out my mouth. 3.0/10
