I know Jamie Patterson, the director of this film, he’s one of my lectures at university. I feel kinda bad coz he’s a really cool guy and I do think he’s a good film maker, but this was one of the worst films I’ve seen in my entire life. It was still watchable tho, it was more like the room, it was so bad that it was hilarious and super fun to watch. Me and my friend stayed up till 7am watching this, I have a lesson with Jamie in like 3 hours, but it was worth it because I had so much fun watching it. The film made no sense at all, it was so dumb it was funny, the acting was terrible and the characters were all so needlessly stupid and annoying.
Like I said I like Jamie so I’m gonna take a minute to say some nice things about the film.
There were a couple of genuinely funny jokes in there (not funny bad jokes actual good jokes)
I liked the aesthetic and it had a cool title sequence.
Though it was made a little difficult because of the writing, the main girl was kinda likeable sometimes
It was hilarious.
Other than that the film was just a bit shit. I’m excited to see some of Jamie’s other films as I know he has grown as a film maker but yeah this just wasn’t good.
Generic romance, bad characters, dumb plot, really really stupid characters, weird songs that didn’t fit their scenes and it’s a Christmas film that makes like 2 or 3 references to Christmas at most. It almost felt like a parody of romance films.
But yeah it was a fun watch.
