Horroctober day 6  I can no longer say that I don’t get scared by horror films because this freaked me out. I think I much prefer the smart and creepy films like this, if anyone has any recommendations for those kind of films I would love to watch more like hereditary.  Cinematography, acting, sound design were all incredible, but overall this is the most well written horror film I’ve ever seen.  I wasn’t the biggest fan of how it all came together at the end and ended up being some weird - spoiler - cult stuff with the king. But I can appreciate it for how smart it was and I’m sure I will appreciate it even more once I watch a couple of breakdown videos that explain to me why it’s so smart.  For half the film I had no idea at all what direction it was going it go and there was so much going on. The scene after the party when that crazy thing happens, was like one of the most impactful scenes I’ve ever watched, honestly jaw dropping and so well acted.  All the creepy stuff that was happening to Alex wolfs character especially when he was in class was also probably my favourite part it was very well done and very scary.  Honestly such a brilliant film I loved it way more than I ever would have expected. Just proves that I need to take more chances on different genres that I don’t usually like. I hated horror films, but I definitely don’t anymore after seeing films like these. Maybe I’ll try action films next month.  8.8/10
