Happy Gilmore 2 2025

This is a really nice tribute to the original happy Gilmore.  I was kinda worried at the start, it felt like it undid a lot of the last film, making some pretty big decisions that I at first wasn’t happy about, but it really made sense for the films narrative. Also the new dynamic with happy and his family was pretty wholesome. The films filled with cameos that never feel too forced, lots of the old cast pop up and it gets pretty silly towards the end, but I really loved how it wasn’t taking its self too seriously, just like the classic happy Gilmore.  Seeing happy play golf again was awesome, the montage of him training felt just like the optional and was pretty satisfying to watch. Also Shooter McGavin was great. I feel like they took his character in a really interesting direction that I really liked. They didn’t write his character in the way that I feel like most sequels like this would.  I liked this even more than I thought I would and don’t have too many negatives. I feel like films like these don’t need to be perfect as long as they aren’t bad and don’t ruin the original, it’s just nice to see all the characters again. They did pretty well I think.  7.8/10
