Easy A 2010
Directed by Will Gluck93 minComedy
Olive, an average high school student, sees her below-the-radar existence turn around overnight once she decides to use the school's gossip grapevine to advance her social standing. Now her classmates are turning against her and the school board is becoming concerned, including her favorite teacher and the distracted guidance counselor. With the support of her hilariously idiosyncratic parents and a little help from a long-time crush, Olive attempts to take on her notorious new identity and crush the rumor mill once and for all.

So I’m moving into my new place for uni in like 1 day. Haven’t started packing yet. This is me procrastinating. Easy A. Lisa Kudrow is in it, I’m a big friends fan and I don’t think I’ve seen her in any films before, even though she played an annoying character I love Lisa Kudrow so I was happy when I saw her pop up. Penn Badgley? I think that’s his name? The guy from gossip girl (Dan Humphrey) and the star of one of my favourite tv shows “You”. Emma stone is pretty good, she was kinda funny sometimes. I didn’t really like the whole 4th wall/ web cast narration to it and I thought certain parts were a little …..tacky. But it was an alright film and I enjoyed watching it.
The story to the film was actually kind of entertaining, it was about how rumours can spread and how they can affect people, slightly over exaggerated though. And it’s the third film I’ve watched in a row that’s has the same kinda structure. main character tells lie, receives benefits from lie, lie is discovered, everyone hates them, character redeems them self and is forgiven, film ends. I would have to change lie discovered to lie backfires but I’m finding it interesting to see how similar lots of these films are. It feels like I’m learning a little and not just procrastinating.
Lots of the characters were very unlikable and it wasn’t always as funny as it thought it was, but the film was ok.
