Dragonball Evolution 2009

I feel like it would be pointless to talk about why this film is bad as it’s painfully obvious. I’ve now read all of dragonball and I’m partway through dbz so yeah this adaptation is incredibly irritating. If we pretend this isn’t an adaptation then it isn’t the worst movie ever made. I mean it’s still bad/ dumb/ annoying but some of the fights are quite good, most of them are really bad but a few were cool just with bad vfx. We get a Spider-Man like fight scene against his bullies which was cool even tho it was way too early in the film. The story was kinda interesting but not as interesting as the real dragonball, I can see what they were trying to do even though it didn’t really work. It also made me laugh a few times, not really with any of the jokes mostly just at some really dumb parts, like how bad master Roshi was. Literally everything else about this film is bad though and it just gets worse and worse as the film progresses until it’s barely even watchable. After the guy with the same name as yamcha shows up I just spaced out and didn’t even realise what was going on. Crappy film but not completely unwatchable. Gohan learning the kamehameha was were I just gave up on trying to look for the good parts that just pissed me off, the character just isn’t Goku. It’s closer to Peter Parker than to goku.  Also wtf was that Rocky 2 ending, goku would destroy chi chi. The editors should have taken out the cliff hanger ending after watching the film and realising that shit is never getting a sequel, i kinda wanna see a dragon ball 2 with a live action freeza that would be pretty cool.  1.6/ 10
