This is the most I’ve ever been through to see a film, I needed to see it at the cinema, so after I finally found someone to see it with, we went an hour and a half on the train to get to the only cinema still showing this film. After the film ended, we realised we missed the last train so it took us 5 hours and what feels like 10 busses to get home. I just got back at 5am, I am in pain, everything hurts, tonight I saw countless drunk people and a guy getting arrested, but you know what, it was worth it, because demon slayer is so fucking cool.
The film definitely could have been better, I feel like it would have been a strong start to a new season and it didn’t really need to be a film, it is like the smallest arc in the manga but this still felt a bit rushed, the pacing was a bit weird and I got a bit bored a few times. I also feel like they should have developed rengokus character a bit more before this film and some of the crazy moments would have felt slightly more crazy.
But demon slayer is an amazing anime, I’ve read this before so I knew exactly what was going to happen yet I was still at the edge of my seat, demon slayers animation is incredible and the characters, though they may be a little basic, are so cool. The soundtrack was amazing and the final fight was everything I wanted it to be.
Maybe not the best anime film in the world, but it’s demon slayer, so it was just incredibly fun to watch and I’m so glad I went to the cinema to see it.
7.9/10
