Clerks 3 wasn’t an amazing film, but I liked it. There were points where I thought I wasn’t going to like it, like when they started talking bout NFT’s or had the same argument they’ve had for the last 2 films, but when it got into the part where they started to make a film, I started to accept the film for what it was, Kevin smiths passion project, and I’m so glad I got to see it at the cinema.
I recommend you stay for the credits as at the end kevin smith starts talking about what the film meant to him and It made me respect the film a lot more.
The opening of the film is very cool and I think it had a great ending also. “He wasn’t even supposed to be here today” It surprisingly had me tearing up a little which is something the first two never managed to do. It was just a great ending to a trilogy that it is clear someone really cared about. I’m not sure how I felt about the ghost stuff, what I loved about the first clerks film is how grounded and realistic it was, and this film doesn’t have that, but it’s the final one so I think that’s ok.
The surprise cameos were very cool, I’m not gonna spoil them for u but it’s at the auditions for their film and a couple people I’m sure most people like and recognise show up.
Some of the background music I found quite weird, there’s rock songs playing quietly at scenes like at the hospital which didn’t feel right. It wasn’t always funny, but it was sometimes. But Kevin smith is a legend and I loved it, don’t regret spending most of my day watching clerks.
