Bottle Rocket 1996

So one of my local cinemas is doing a 24 hour Wes Anderson binge and we are starting with bottle rocket. I can barely watch one film these days without falling asleep I don’t think I’m gonna last very long.  This is the schedule. 12:00 BOTTLE ROCKET 14:10 RUSHMORE 16:10 THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS Dinner break 18:50 THE LIFE AQUATIC 21:20 THE DARJEELING LIMITED + Hotel Chevalier short film 23:20 FANTASTIC MR. FOX 01:20 MOONRISE KINGDOM 03:10 THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL 05:10 ISLE OF DOGS 07:00 THE FRENCH DISPATCH Breakfast time! 09:30 ASTEROID CITY - And…blast off! Fresh from its Cannes premiere, you won’t want to miss our extra special preview of Wes’s new out-of-this-world adventure. So if I last that long, which I very likely won’t, I will be seeing Asteroid City at 9:30 am tomorrow. I also have work the same day at 16:45, so I dunno how this is gonna work, but I realistically am not making it that long. I think the best time to sleep would be after fantastic mr fox, coz I’ve seen all the ones playing after apart from the French dispatch and I think I can survive not seeing that. That’s assuming I will even last till then.  Anyway on to the actual film. I liked bottle rocket. Wholesome chaos. I really like Wes Anderson’s earlier films, seeing Rushmore next which is one of my favourites. The film is fun and still has a lot of his style but it isn’t as obvious as his later films. I’ve seen the short film for this and didn’t love it but this was great, Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson look way too much like brothers to play friends, but their chemistry was great and I loved both their acting. Fun, very fitting ending, I liked Anthony and Inez. Just a nice film, I loved the characters. There’s a Wes Anderson quiz now which I will very likely lose. Excited for the next couple. I would say the one I was most exited for was this film and it was as good as I hoped it would be. After that would be the life aquatic or Royal Tenenbaums as I haven’t seen them. Also seeing fantastic mr fox in the cinema will be fun.  The final scene made me really want a burger. The quiz we are doing now is kahoot on the cinema screen. Wish me luck.  8.2/10 I came 3rd / 18th and won a poster. Hadn’t stood up in a while and nearly fell over when walking to collect it. Was pretty embarrassing. Won a pretty big poster for Asteroid City.
