This was kinda nice, the writing was a bit terrible but it was nice to see a rom com at the cinema.
It started off nice, a bit cheesy but fun, then they started to hate each other and the conflict just felt really forced, maybe coz it was all based on some dumb misunderstanding and was just kind of annoying. Also the way they both reacted when they saw each other again felt way over the top and made them both kind of unlikable from the very beginning.
As the film went on it got a little better, their relationship was quite nice, I liked the scene where they fall off the boat and sing together.
The saving grace for this film for me though was Gata. He’s one of my favourite characters from one of my favourite TV shows called Dave where he plays himself. He is extremely likeable in the show and gives a very honest and emotional performance show casing his own mental health issues. So nice to see him in more stuff, found him to be the funniest character in this, his chemistry with his step dad was great. Super happy to see him in this.
The dads were both very funny, made me laugh a couple of times. The girls getting married were very likeable aswell, honestly some of the side characters were way stronger than the protagonists, I liked them all quite a lot they were all funny and cool.
The ending was a bit cliche but nice, I definitely would have enjoyed watching this at 4am in the dark, seeing it at the cinema was a bit different of an experience and made me analyse it more but it was still fun and I would maybe even see it again for Gata.
The fact she went people watching and was just staring at people was really odd to me. People who do this are weird.
The credits were really cool, everyone singing over scenes from the film. Nice way to end it.
