This was a weird film, I don’t think I understood it fully. I did understand it but it felt like the deeper meaning was lost on me. The film felt so real yet so strange and abnormal at the same time.
The stop motion was incredible, I feel like I could watch a whole feature length documentary right now about the making of this film having just finished it. I’ve really never seen such a deep stop motion film and I think we need more.
I wouldn’t say it was forgettable because it certainly left an impression because of how unique it was, but I dunno if I connected to it too much. It was a great film and a little sad, but I feel It should have impacted me more and it just didn’t. Maybe I need to watch it again when it isn’t 3am when I’m half falling asleep.
I loved the realism though, it was slow and made you feel really connected to the character. Just when it started getting weirder I think it lost me a little.
Great film though, stunning stop motion animation, I respect anyone able to do something like this very highly as stop motion takes an insane amount of effort and it pays off.
Slowly making my way through every Kaufman film.
