Saw this film with my friend Jennifer because I thought it’d be funny to watch a Jennifer Coolidge film (Not because they have the same name). This is also one of my mum’s favourite films so I’ve watched it an unnatural amount of times along with another Cinderella story and another Cinderella story: once upon a song. I don’t know what it is about the whole Cinderella remake thing but she watches all of them, but for her it was just those 3. It’s weird coz they all feel like the exact same film, they have the same structure, this one however isn’t about singing or dancing making it a little more boring but a little less annoying. The structure of the films are so similar and basic I feel like I could write my own one in a couple of hours and my mum would probably watch it on repeat. Anyway this is just kind of a cheesy, early 2000s film.  She says laugh out loud, out loud while she texts it. It’s not great, but unfortunately thanks to my mother I have a lot of nostalgia for it so I’d probably watch it again.  The whole looking for the girl you met at the costume dance is a thing that happens in all the Cinderella films I’ve seen and it annoys me every time because she is wearing a mask on her face and a wedding dress not a ski mask and …. A wedding dress ….. how the hell do you not recognise her after interacting with her so many times after. Very dumb.  Jennifer hated the male best friend character but I thought he was cool.  Jennifer Coolidge makes a good evil step mom, very funny.  4.9/10 I accidentally made this the first film I watched in 2023. Oops.
