No spoilers. That was incredible, honestly one of the best films I’ve seen at the cinema in a long time. There’s so much to talk about, so many reasons why this film was so good, honestly just amazing.  So I saw the midnight screening for this, I was really excited, but I’ve never been a massive Batman fan so I didn’t care too much, but I should have, after 5 minutes I knew exactly how good it was gonna be and from then on it didn’t disappoint me once.  This film was so good I don’t even know where to start. The cinematography was amazing, some of the shots were so good that it had me just as happy as some of the crazy points of the film. The film was also crazy, had so many cool twists and fun moments. The soundtrack was amazing, most people would have heard it already as it was in the trailer but I loved it so much.  I also really loved the films use of the colour red, it looks amazing. You would also be able to see this in the trailer, but there were so many great shots in the film that looked so much better because of the cool use of the colour red.  The acting….. wow. Paul Dano outdid himself, I really like that guy and him as the riddler was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from him. I love Colin Farrell too and he was unrecognisable as the Penguin, he’s so talented, that man just became the penguin and it made me so happy. Robert Pattinson was an amazing Batman, at first my only fault with the film was that I don’t think he was a good Bruce Wayne, but as the film went on and we saw some more of the emotional and intense moments, I began to really like him, maybe not the best Batman but a really good one for sure. Some other noteworthy performances, Zoë Kravitz (I think that’s her name) was a great Catwoman, she was one of the most likeable characters in the film which I didn’t expect and she added more depth to Batman’s character. And really just the whole cast was great, Alfred, Gordon and falcone, all great, but the biggest stand out was definitely Dano.  The film honestly was on par with Dark Knight and it was maybe even better. I love Dark Knight, mostly because of Heath ledger, but I honestly had a much better experience watching this film. My hand was over my mouth in shock for like 40% of it. It was a little long but I honestly didn’t want it to end, Gotham looked amazing and it was a real experience watching.  Matt Reeves 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻  It wasn’t like your average super hero film, it was a detective/ mystery film, it was incredibly dark yet beautiful. I was genuinely tearing up not just at the sad moments but just in awe of how good it was. I love comic book movies so much and this wasn’t just an incredible comic book movie, even as a stand alone film, this is just amazing. My review may change as right now I’m still in shock at how good that was but right now ima give it a 8.9/10
