Good film. Mark Ruffalo, Ryan Reynolds and a kid version of Ryan Reynolds, very enjoyable, best time travel film since avengers end game.  I thought the kid was a very good actor, he played a young Ryan Reynolds really well. The main reason this film was so good was their character was really interesting, and the chemistry between themselves was really good. The stuff with his mum and his dad was all what made the film so good. I actually just watched this film with my dad after not seeing him for 3 months, but he falls asleep every time he watches a film but at least I gotta watch it with my dogs.  Mark Ruffalo is great, but just as an actor, he’s just a great person. There are certain actors, such as Charlie Day, who are so likeable that whatever film they’re in they really just elevate the character to a point it wouldn’t reach with any other actors.  Other than those great parts it was just a generic sci fi film with a simple plot. It had a lot of unique, emotional and funny moments. But at it’s core it was pretty simple. The villain was terrible, I couldn’t have cared less about her, and all the other sci fi shit was … well, shit.  It didn’t show us anything from the future and it was set in the past, which was a cool decision as I liked how we were following young Adam, but since all the sci fi shit is from the future, the fact we don’t see it means we don’t really get a proper explanation, which made it all feel kind of dumb. It’s also a time travel film which means it just makes no sense anyway, so many questions left unanswered because when your making a time travel film like this I think you just gotta kinda accept that it’s gonna be really stupid.  Also I don’t care bout action scenes but this film had quite a lot of cool sci fi moments. Also I liked the fighting, even with the bullies, all very cool.  But yeah there were some great moments and a great cast. I liked the game of catch at the end and the hug at the end almost had me tearing up. Very fun film, and it really had an interesting and complex character that I quite enjoyed, it’s just too bad the rest of the film let it down.  Not amazing but much better than free guy  8.0/10
