Space Jam: A New Legacy 2021

“Listen guys, I’m a ball player, and athletes acting, it never goes well”  I love the original space jam film, I’ve been excited about this film for years and it was a massive disappointment, really just an awful film. The acting was terrible, LeBron is not an actor and that clearly shows in this film. Even Don Cheadle who I actually kind of like was just bad. The whole film just felt forced.  Part of the charm of the original was it took the live action character and put it in a cartoon, and the same with the cartoons in the live action. Some reason they decided not to do that, LeBron James is animated and ….. it’s just shit. Kinda felt like they were trying to hard, the first film was simple, great and made way more sense. Instead of just the Looney Tunes, this film has gremlins, the Iron Giant, DC superheroes, King Kong, penny wise, basically just all the popular WB characters. This was kinda cool but it also just felt a little too much. Though my personal favourite part of this film was one of these cameos, my favourite tv show of all time, Rick and morty had a short cameo which I kind of loved. Also big chungus is in it. I laughed a few times but most of the jokes really didn’t land, especially the ones from Don Cheadle. They did a sonic and copied quicksilver. The whole film was just stupid. The intro was stupid, he played with his friends game for a few seconds and then gets yelled at by his coach and he throws it in the bin and that becomes the plot of the whole film. The final match was stupid, if Lebron wasn’t an idiot and explained to his son what was actually going on a little better, half that shit wouldn’t have had to happen. LeBron was such an idiot and it really pissed me off. Could have been amazing, but it wasn’t.  1.4/10
