Orion and the Dark 2024

I was liking this, quite a nice story about a kid overcoming his fears. The beginning was especially good. But I guess Charlie Kaufman can’t just write a simple film like that he had to make the whole thing be a story being told to a kid who traveled in time to save his mum who traveled in time to save his dad who was telling the mum the story at the start. It was so unnecessarily complicated. Again the start was good and I found it weirdly relatable and I didn’t mind when it all was just a bedtime story but I do feel like they did a bit too much with it and in the end it really took away from the overall story, making we care very little about any of the characters.  I guess it is a kids film, but that’s more reason not to end it like that, so I didn’t really know who this is for.  Charlie Kaufman dreamworks film tho, that’s pretty cool.  6.7/10
