Logistics 2011
Directed by Erika Magnusson, Daniel Andersson999 minDocumentary
Logistics or Logistics Art Project is an experimental art film. At 51,420 minutes (857 hours or 35 days and 17 hours), it is the longest movie ever made. A 37 day-long road movie in the true sense of the meaning. The work is about Time and Consumption. It brings to the fore what is often forgotten in our digital, ostensibly fast-paced world: the slow, physical freight transportation that underpins our economic reality.

This film, wow. Probably the most real film I’ve ever seen. It really makes you think about the value of human life and the effect we as a species have had on the world. I’ve never watched a film that made me think this much about my own life and my impact on the world, it was an incredible experience. The shot at the end where the camera messes up and it goes all fuzzy had be on the edge of my seat. Also the sunset shot at the end was cool, really satisfying when we get back on the ground again. Crazy how many seagulls there are just flying out in the middle of the ocean. The ocean is so massive, there must be so many seagulls out there in the world.
I heard about this film for a while, I think because the original one is like 35 days long. If you haven’t heard of it the whole thing is just a shot of a cargo ship sailing around. This version is a 72 minute edit of it taking 5 minutes from every day. Basically just a shortened version of the longest film ever made. It actually would be cool to watch the whole thing just to be able to say you have watched it. That’s kinda why I watched this, I was on the phone with my roommate and just had it playing in the background, always wanted to watch it for some weird reason and figured I may as well have it on. I did actually watch the whole thing and I didn’t actually like it, it’s just a shot of a boat tbh, was kinda cool to have on in the background though and I do like boats so cool.
Feel weird logging it as it’s barely even a film but I sat through the whole thing and I’ve heard of it before so I’m counting it.
Maybe one day I’ll watch the 35 day version.
0.7/10
Was gonna start the long version but I can’t find where to watch it
My 100th film of the year
