Kuruko no basketball is an anime series … about basketball. It follows 2 high school first years, kagami and kuroko who get into their high school basketball team. Kagami is from America and is very good at basketball and kuroko, well at first he doesn’t seem very good, but his team later discovers that he is the phantom 6th man in the generation of miracles. The generation of miracles are kurokos team mates from middle school, and they were all so good they never lost. Each person on the team has a skill (so it’s basically a basketball anime with superpowers), one guy can shoot from anywhere on the court and it always goes in, one can copy other peoples abilities even if he just saw it, one is incredibly strong and tall, you get the idea….. kuruko is one of the members of this team, his ability is passing, he uses his lack of presence on the court and his passing ability to become one of the best players in Japan.
This film is set after the end of the series (that I just finished) and it wasn’t that good of a film I guess, it was really simple, the whole film was basically just one match against characters that you don’t really care about that much, but it was really cool. The films about an American streetball team who destroy a Japanese team and call all Japanese basket ball players monkeys who can’t play basketball. To prove them wrong, for the first time since middle school the generation of miracles come together to play them in a rematch. Each of the generation of miracles all went to different teams in high school and play against each other throughout the series, an another addition to the team is kurokos partner, kagami. The reason I kind of lived this film was coz I got to see kagami play with the generation of miracles and because each of the characters have some really cool moments. I loved it. It wasn’t a good film, followed the same formula as the series and isn’t as good as some of the matches in the series, but seeing all the characters come together was like kuroko no baskets avengers end game, I loved it. Personally I think this film is an even better ending to the series than the actual ending to the series. It’s not actually based on the manga it’s based on a sequel story. But I thought it was a perfect ending to the anime.
I don’t have much else to say about it, it was kinda basic but really cool, that’s about it. Also kuroko no basket it on Netflix and it now has an English version so I recommend anyone who likes basketball to watch the first couple episodes at least. Ever since I picked it up again and made it to season 2 I’ve been playing basketball every day.
7.2/10
