Free Guy 2021

Chris evans’ one line in this was the best part of the whole film. They promoted the shit out of this film and it kind of made me really wanna watch it. The trailer wasn’t good but it’s got pokimane in it. Someone does the floss in this film. Also ninja is in it.  Ryan Reynolds is always the same, which isn’t a terrible thing because that means he’s always good. This film had an interesting concept and I feel like it could have been an ok film. But it was just a stupid, cringy and annoying film that I didn’t expect to be this bad. I like some of the youtubers in this, but every time they popped up it made me cringe. If only they got Charles white (critikal) the best actor of our generation to be in it. When I say the films stupid I don’t mean a little dumb, it’s annoying stupid. It made no sense at times and it really pissed me off.  Taika watiti? Taki wititi? The Thor Ragnarok director who played hitler once, was alright. Joe Kerry was also kind of ok. Obviously Ryan Reynolds was good and the guy from the Eric Andre show was also ok. No other notable performances, the main girl was kind of annoying. Kept saying stuff like “so toxic” or “he’s a troll” or “you’re such a noob”, makes it sound like the film was written by a bunch of old people who’ve never played a game in their life but they interviewed their 9 year old son asking what words are cool.  It had a nice ending though I’ll give it that. I like the love letter thing. And guy and buddy at the end. Even dude was kinda funny there too.  I don’t recommend this film. Maybe if you want a meh film to watch with your family, it has its moments and was sometimes a little cool. But it was mostly just a shit film.  2.6/10
